I noticed that there are no BIOS upgrades for the 3940UW series. The only one that they have on the website is for 3940 and they explicitly state that the BIOS is only for 3940 and 3940W. Don't want to flash some incompatible BIOS in. ;-) You are right, the card is probably 2nd hand (though the shop I bought it from says that it is brand new), but I got it cheap, at around US$50. My money is on the card BIOS as well, but if there is no BIOS image online to flash, it looks like there is nothing much I can do. Will keep looking around. Thanks again.
