It was off to a running start and then promptly stopped (see scrip snip at > bottom). <errors et al. snipped> -CURRENT is for developers, or for people that (usually) know what they are doing :-) Such a **major** upgrade (ie across/between different Release numbers) is very NONstandard; the "make world" recipe is not even expected to work in this dangerous wild area :-) In this connection, a good amount of information is found in the archives (viz -stable, -questions, but also -current as of a few months ago (Jan. - March 2000)). AFAIR, there is a very comprehensive recipe, which has also been reposted few weeks ago. Essentially: the more gradual your upgrade is, the better/safer it is. If you have a powerful enough machine and you wish to spend some time playing with this process, then go for it. Otherwise, you might probably want to install one of the more recent snapshots (cf ftp://ftp<some_one-digit_number>.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/releases/i386/)= .
