Nope, 1000Base-T (no X) is speced for Cat5 cabling.. As per the 802.3 spec 40.1: 1000BASE-T signaling requires four pairs of Category 5 balanced cabling, as specified in ISO/IEC 11801:1995 and ANSI/EIA/TIA-568-A (1995) and tested for the additional performance parameters specified in 40.7 using testing procedures defined in proposed ANSI/TIA/EIA TSB95. > It is not working at 1000baseTX with Cat5e/Cat6 cabling.
