The screenshot shows messages of the form: g_access(944): provider ufsid/xxxxx has error 6 set followed by g_access(944): provider gptid/yyyyy has error 6 set and then g_dev_taste: make_dev_p() failed (gp->name=gptid/yyyyy, error=17) I don't know what this error 6 is and don't know anything about g_access; but if it is from sys/errno.h that would be ENXIO, Device not configured. I suspect it has something to do with running under the vm but that is a wild guess. I don't monitor the freebsd-geom mailing list but hopefully someone there can assist. Gary
