Should openoffice.org installation script make "versionless" symlinks to files with version number in filenames? Something like this: cd ${LOCALBASE}/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps && ln -s openoffice.org-2.3.0-writer.png openoffice.org-writer.png or cd ${LOCALBASE}/bin && ln -s openoffice.org-2.3.0 openoffice.org It would keep custom created panel launchers and mime associations intact during version changes.
