I have vesa patch and no dpms patch. backlight is not off in suspend. The DPMS patch works ago, but it does not work for a few months. It is said that you can use xset dpms force off to turn off backlight, but i never tried that. no other modifications, hw.acpi.reset_video is 0, but 1 also works for me. Regards, rafan.
