The following reply was made to PR ports/135703; it has been noted by GNATS. From: Vick Khera <vivek@khera.org> To: bug-followup@freebsd.org Cc: Subject: Re: ports/135703: Updated port databases/slony1 Date: Fri, 19 Jun 2009 09:50:20 -0400 --001636499fe722f2b0046cb3ce23 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit slony1 2.x is incompatible with the 1.x line, and really needs to be its own port (sort of like how perl, RT, and such are split by major versions). That is, you cannot simply just upgrade the slony1 port via portupgrade or similar tools and expect it to continue working if it changes to version 2.0. Please repo-copy slony1 to slony1-2.0 then update with this patch. If the submitter agrees, give him ownership of it. --001636499fe722f2b0046cb3ce23 Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <div class=3D"gmail_quote">slony1 2.x is incompatible with the 1.x line, an= d really needs to be its own port (sort of like how perl, RT, and such are = split by major versions). =A0That is, you cannot simply just upgrade the sl= ony1 port via portupgrade or similar tools and expect it to continue workin= g if it changes to version 2.0.</div> <div class=3D"gmail_quote"><br></div><div class=3D"gmail_quote">Please repo= -copy slony1 to slony1-2.0 then update with this patch. =A0If the submitter= agrees, give him ownership of it.</div> --001636499fe722f2b0046cb3ce23--
