hi, anyone know any possible causes for = this=20 message?

Unable to open temporary = maildrop

a little background: this system was = never meant to=20 be a mailserver, so i deleted the /var/mail dir to free up space = (probably not=20 the best way to do it)

now i'm trying to set it up as a mail = server and i=20 get that error

any possible solutions?
