'kill -USR1 46086' == 'kill -31 46086' Yes, yes, if those are processes trying to access a bad NFS and it was softmounted, it will not timeout and they cannot be killed. However, you should be able to reboot the system, # shutdown -r now Or the less graceful, # reboot Should work fine. -- Crist J.
