I don't run it in RAID mode, so I can't tell anything about that. I installed it from USB flash device. I am happy so far. It is an old hardware and I got it for $290 which was my price range for home use. It is a bit noisy, so I run it in hardware power management mode. Not sure if I shall try FreeBSD power management.
