Not with my laptop. I can hot swap it all day long. No promises
on yours though. :) I have no idea if that is a laptop hardware, driver,
or modem hardware problem.

Oh, the X-Jack lights up when it's dialing or connected too. Kinda
neat if you want to turn your sound off or don't have on-board
sound.

Seriously, my only two complaints about this modem are that
it's a power hog (actually, I think this is FreeBSD's fault. I don't
think FreeBSD knows how to enable power management on
PCMCIA or Card Bus slots) and that it doesn't seem to be a
full voice modem. I've seen marketing fluff indicate that it can
do speaker phone stuff, but I can't seem to get it working with
vgetty. The voice mode driver AT commands indicate that it
has a beta voice driver for firmware.

I'll try to test this thing with Hylafax sometime this week. I'd
like to know if it's a decent fax modem too.

But if all you need is data, this is the modem for you!
