Remick" Subject: /var/log gone? Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Sender: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG I'm a bit concerned... my /var/log directory vanished over the weekend. So I have some questions: 1) What permissions/ownerships does /var/log normally have? 2) Do I need to "touch" any log files to get them started again? 3) I'm suspicious as to how this happened. What can I do to check things out? Obviously, I have no logs :( Please cc: any replies to my email... thanks. ----------------------- Scott I.
