I don't know if the US uses the same convention, but the phone books here sort names starting with an O' as if the apostrophe wasn't there, eg Oates O'Callaghan Ockham O'Grady Also, Mac and Mc are both sorted as if they were spelt Mac, eg McDonald Machek MacIlroy McKenzie -- In theory, theory is better than practice.
