Well, i think i was wondering for something more sophisticated than it really needs to be. I chose to stick to a message queue dir, and a set of procedures for its maintenance. My source for this idea came from qmail's maildir format, which seems it's simple, and smart. > You shouldn't find it too difficult. I thought you were concerned about > downtime or something.
