I have a k7s5a pro motherboard. The computer has been working perfectly to the point of the LAN modem installation. little time afterwards the usb ports were not recognised by the system I have disable the on board modem at the BIOS and made several changes at the BIOS which could be related to the problem. None of them sorted the problem. At the Microsoft web page is said there is a sort of problem with usb ports, AMD processors and Windows 98SE due to a clock issue. I have downloaded the up-dated driver and it did not work either. I even stalled a usb port card but the system is all the time asking for weird files that I cannot find neither in Windows' CD nor in the usb installation disk. kind of gets crazy. I have a Win TV card, a ate rage/fury 128 and a dual channel ultra ata 66 as hardware. Could you help me in this matter?. could you recommend any program to find the usb port problem or any other solution. I do not know what else could be done, maybe flash the BIOS to resolve this usb disappearance. Should I miss any information that could be important for you to know, just let me know, please. Looking forward to hearing from you. Yours faithfully Antonio Cordoba
