There have been some efforts to write Linux drivers which are partly succesful I believe - I haven't investigated it much yet, but for FreeBSD I believe no project has been started. I have no experience with programming kernel or drivers but if any of you is interested in working on a driver for FreeBSD, I can mail you the card (fresh in box) if needed.
