In short, i4b does not yet ignore LCP-Echo packets for idletime-hangup calculation and if the other side does not ignore them too, the line stays up forever. As far as i understood it, Brian Somers user ppp(8) handles this situation properly and ppp(8) is able to work with i4b since 0.82 - perhaps you might want to give it a try. > Incidentally, one thing missing from the documentation that would be useful > for at least some people is some instructions about getting i4b to work > "dial on command" rather than "dial on demand".
