Actually, I think people have been fairly restrained on this one, and we're building a clear consensus. :-) Thanks for gritting your teeth on this one and opening the discussion to the widest community possible, and for listening to all this input. As someone who uses both FreeBSD *and* Perl, I want whichever version of Perl that I want. I want to be able to use my desired version of Perl without dealing with workarounds or hacks. This is the same way I want to use Apache or PHP, for example.
