Requirements:
- PC hardware and software installation and maintenance
- strong knowledge of
- general Unix system and network administration
- NIS, NFS, Sendmail, Samba
- Windows networking, domain administration, etc.
- good communication skills
- availability part time
- reasonable on-call arrangement
Assets:
- experience with FreeBSD, Linux
- experience maintaining programming environments for C, C++, python, TCL, etc.
- knowledge of security and firewall issues
Duties:
- purchase and install Windows and Unix workstations, servers,
switches, software packages, etc.
- maintain Unix cluster, network, mail system, web servers, etc.
- maintain backup system
- troubleshoot PC hardware and software
