Salute!

Sorry if the question is lame...

I'm trying to set up TCP over the SMC PCI Ezcard 10 (NE2000 compatible).
FreeBSD 2.2.6 GENERIC detects it correctly and prints "ed1:
<blah-blah-blah, its configuration>" at startup. What file in /dev do I
use to access it? There is no /dev/ed1 or the like.

Is setting up TCP over the ethernet card the same as described in the
handbook for modems? [Well, I certainly use a different device name and
dial string.]
