Everytime I try, it bombs out complaining that it can't fetch the source tarball. Nmap itself builds just fine though. Going to their website, it sez that the app (nmap) and the front end (nmapfe) are a combined download. Does this mean that nmapfe, from the ports collection, is obsolete/broken?
