FreeBSD spots.emidln.com 8.1-RELEASE FreeBSD 8.1-RELEASE #0: Tue Jul 27 05:58:52 CDT 2010 bja@spots.emidln.com:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC powerpc
>Description:
During install, sysinstall will fail to find and install man pages, english language documentation, ports, or source code via CDROM install or FTP install from ftp.freebsd.org. The base system appeared to install fine (well enough to allow me to sync the source code with csup and rebuild world to gain access to documentation and whatever else was missing).

>How-To-Repeat:
Attempt to install FreeBSD 8.1-RELEASE for PowerPC using a CD-ROM or FTP install source.
>Fix:
A workaround exists by installing as much of the base and developer distributions as possible and then using csup to gain a copy of the source code and ports tree. This can then be used to rebuild the world and install any missing documentation.
