It sounds to me like your ISP isn't configured to route data back to the BSD box. I have setup a FreeBSD machine with iij-ppp as a gateway box fine in the past, and Jordan is still using that box now :-) I would check with your ISP that the subnet address you are using for your Windows boxes is routed through the BSD box to you.
