Thanks.  I'll add a `sed' to my mkppp script that osreldate's it.

I wouldn't worry about this.  If it's not going into 2.2, there's 
nothing to fix (I can just add another sed to my mkppp to get it to 
back-port), and if it is going into 2.2, the code can be changed to 
whatever bit of the #ifdef is appropriate :-)
