This allows y= ou to=20 install software from binary packages and also to automatically install i= t=20 from source. The latest version of the "ports tree" is independant of the= =20 latest version of FreeBSD, so you can update KDE without updating your wh= ole=20 system. The latest version of the ports tree contains KDE 3.0.3.
