In the case that doesn't, sendmail is expected to be listening for connections on port 25. In your case, it isn't. This is probably just a case of adding the following to /etc/rc.conf: sendmail_enable="YES" # Run the sendmail daemon (or NO). Hmmm, having typed all that, I do wonder why it times out instead of refusing your connection. Ciao, Sheldon.
