This is a followup to my posting of Sat, 29 Nov 1997 15:44:18 -0800 (PST).

When loading ppp as part of rc.conf at that time, it would hang for a good
minute configuring the tun device.  Since then I've upgraded to 2.2.5 and
the problem has vanished.  I never figured out what exactly it was doing.
