1. I am running FreeBSD 2.1.0 with only 1 swap partition. I was considering turning kernel dumps on, but I have a question. In /etc/rc, swapon -a is run before dumpon and savecore. Wouldn't this corrupt the kernel's core dump that is on that swap partition? It seems to me that it enables the device for swaps before saving the dump to a file. I may be completely misunderstanding this, so correct me if I am wrong. 2. How can I read a CD-ROM's label? When mounted under DOS, all drives (including CD-ROM's) have labels to identify the disk. For instance, the FreeBSD-2.1.0 alpha CD's label is "FREEBSD210A". How can I get this info under FreeBSD? 3. I recently installed a Nakamichi 7 disk CD-ROM changer. What is the current status concerning reports of panics while using this drive. Are there any patches I should be aware of? -- _ /| \'o.O' urcf@fang.cs.sunyit.edu (Rodney C.
