I have a fairly new, generic notebook - the model number that these things seem to go by is 6200T. It has a SystemSoft chipset and BIOS, but the problems seem to be that the PCMCIA bridges (there are 3 PCMCIA slots, so 2 bridges. Windows copes with standard drivers) are to PCI not ISA - that is certainly what the screen messages indicate. I have tried assorted PAO and non-PAO boot discs; the results are the same in any case. When the bootup starts, you get the following... avail memory = 28921856 (28244K) Probing for devices on PCI bus 0: chip0 rev 0 on pci0:0 chip1 rev 1 on pci0:1:0 chip2 rev 1 on pci0:1:1 chip3 rev 1 on pci0:2:0 INCORRECTLY or NEVER CONFIGURED. vga0 rev 211 int a irq ?? on pci0:6 chip4 rev 2 int a irq?? on pci0:13:0 chip5 rev 2 int a irq?? on pci0:14:0 Probing for devices on PCI bus 1: [[here it hangs with floppy turning]] Anyone got _ANY_ suggestions? Please.... Thanks, -- Paul -= Paul Thornton, 2 Durnford Way, Cambridge, CB4 2DP, UK. +44 1223 575384 =-
