I've been running CURRENT on my laptop since months before 5.0-Release and I think I've only had to resort to my backup once. If I had been luckier, it would have never happened. (And, if my timing had been a bit worse, it could have happened a LOT more often.) Until someone has been bitten, they almost never do backups and, after being bitten they get careless after a while. Takes a few bites (or a really nasty one) before the lesson is really learned. (Glances at laptop running dd(1) as we speak. Yes, I had already started it before reading this thread.) -- R.
