I suppose it should work now, yes. I'm not sure why acd works...it looks like it has its own disklabel handling code, and doesn't use the disk mini-layer. Do you get different results from 'disklabel acd0' and 'disklabel -r acd0' with those CDs? (With the new code in the cd(4) driver, you should get the same thing from disklabel and disklabel -r.)
