While I thought moving from qpopper to ipop3d solved the problem it didn't. It worked for awhile, but then the errors started showing up again. I also learned that it doesn't have anything to do with file size. It just seems to be random email messages that cause it. Upgrading FreeBSD to the latest STABLE (which updated the openssl/openssh stuff along with it) fixed the problem for ipop3d, but not for qpopper. So, at this point I'm running FreeBSD stable (as of about november 1st 2001) and ipop3d (part of mail/imap-uw) and everything is working fine. As for the syslog'ing you need to change the reference to LOG_MAIL in the ccclient port!!! I changed all the references in the imap-uw port with no luck, then changed cclient as well and now my logs are going where I want them. -philip On Fri, 19 Oct 2001, Philip Hallstrom wrote: > So far that seems to be working....thanks! > > Now a question about ipop3d's logging... it logs everything to syslog > using the LOG_MAIL facility.
