Perhaps I should propose another change to the port to its maintainer (Corey Halpin) to reduce the ifs and buts to one unconditional "autoconf" run in pre-configure and move on, rather than trying to convince portmgr@ that the current state of affairs around autoreconf isn't complete, and to convince autoreconf that it can waive running autopoint...
