According to the Financial Times (http://www.ft.com/hippocampus/qe250a.htm, but password protected) Sun has announced that they are releasing "Java" as "community source" (some sort of Open Source(TM)-derivative license) so it looks like we may be able to get a version on FreeBSD before too long...
