Does the install process for 2.0.5 avoid modified files (e.g. files
in /etc) or is it advisable to set them aside somewhere else first?)

Also: lately when I've rebooted, the process hangs at the point
where it attempts to configure the mbone.  It wasn't doing this
before...  What could be causing this?  I can set the mbone up once
the machine's in multi-user mode...
