The *only* change, from your point of view, is that you will need to put
the new man pages in the pkg-plist file, where they always did belong. I
can back that bit out, if you really feel strongly about not using the
plist for them.

The rest is all removing maintenance from you, and letting the framework do
all the work that it's supposed to, like compressing man pages.
