Now I wonder what Jordan means by that ('especially considering i have
this big long PCI card with MMF connectors and that runs at 155Mb/s)?

In my constantly overbooked free time, I have plans to write a *BSD driver
for DEC^H^Higital's PCI ATM card (ATMworks ???) which is about US$2000.
I have no time tables yet but I keep thinking about how to structure
the driver.  Go to http://www.networks.digital.com/ and find to the
page describing TURBOChannel PCI ATM adapter.

It will only support PVCs initial with minimal IPv4 over ATM
implementation.  The unfortunate thing is that I'll be too busy
to make much progress for a number of weeks (like until Febuary).
