I'm sorry, I don't recall seeing this question the first time around; the short answer is that the 1600 will be supported shortly after someone gives/lends me one to do the work. (I never have known the difference between > memory advertised as ECC and parity :) With byte-wide memory, you need two extra bits for ECC rather than just one for parity. 72-pin SIMMs are actually 32 bits wide; some controllers are happy with parity memory (36 bits), others want byte-ECC memory (eg. Mylex AcceleRAID) which is 40 bits wide and incredibly expensive. I *think* the 1400 will be happy with just plain parity memory.
