I have connected a null modem to com port 1 (ttyd0) on a freebsd 4.2 stable box with no effect. I reset the /etc/ttys to: ttyd0 "/usr/libexec/getty std.9600" vt100 on secure ttyd1 "/usr/libexec/getty std.9600" vt100 on secure and did kill -1 1 still no luck I know the cable is good and the laptop is working because i can do this on an openbsd 2.8 stable box no problem so am i missing something specific to FreeBSD?
