Hello to all on the list.

This is my first post so if I have directed this question to the wrong list,
my apologies. I would be grateful for a nudge in the right direction.

I am trying to install Netatalk onto a pc (eventually along with Samba) so I
can share files between a pc and MAC. I am running FreeBSD 4.5-Release (FTP
install). I have cvsup'ped the ports and done a make, make install in
/usr/ports/net/netatalk. I have also added the "options NETETALK" to the
kernel and re-compiled.

After booting the pc and loggin in, I do a "netstat -r". This shows that
AppleTalk is recognised but I get no info under that (the output is below) :

ff02::%lo0         localhost          UC          lo0

I have the default set of files, atalkd.conf, AppleVolumes.default etc that
are made when the package is added.

I would be very grateful if someone could point me to where I may be going
wrong. This is my first stab at FreeBSD and the environment and
organisation seem excellent. I won't be defeated at the first hurdle.

If more info is required to assist with the question, please ask.

Thanks

Dan Marks
