I never have any problems reading PDF files with acroread4, nor any purple-izing of the display. number of visuals: 1 default visual id: 0x20 visual: visual id: 0x20 class: TrueColor depth: 24 planes available colormap entries: 256 per subfield I installed acroread 4.05 from ports.
