Changing from symlinks to hard links isn't going to do anything.
Ruslan wants the embedded shared library name to for "libtermcap.so" to
be "libtermcap.so.3".  These are set by the "SHLIB_MAJOR" and "LIB"
settings in lib/lib*/Makefile.
