I hope that is conditional upon:
GndRsh:sales {111} grep MANCOMP /etc/make.conf
#NOMANCOMPRESS= true
NOMANCOMPRESS=  true
GndRsh:sales {112} 


A lot of the ports unconditionally compress the man pages, and that
is _not_ the correct behavior.
