Yes there is but you have to be running the DES option.
(kept separatly for the f*cked export laws)
If you do this then the passwords will match..
FreeBSD has an extra :0:0: in it's format
(use vipw to look at and edit it)
but an awk script can be used to quickly bash one format i to the other..
