This is a known issue..  On most systems it has a chance of working if
you're rebooting the system from serial console..  The problem is that
the tty struct is not properly initalized and/or not properly destroyed..

phk, have you completed the use of ttymalloc, etc. so that all struct
tty's are properly initalized?
