I was told in a Firewall-1 class that the NT ip 
stack was only 35% efficient and that Solaris
(at least on sun hardware) was somewhere in the
90% range. 

I'm going to guess that FreeBSD is nearer the top
of the efficiency range.

I have DSL on my desk at work since I do some support
for it. I wish I could get it at home.
