that would be great, since then I could integrate the "driver" into my
bridge code and have a cheap multiport 10-100Mbit switch!

In this case I would use the .COM version, either from a floppy or from
a HD.

Besides, many motherboards now have a flash bios, I could always try to
patch the netboot stuff into the bios (sw only) or, for those MB with
a ROM, burn a new Eprom including the netboot.
