The network connects six offices (using leased lines and Cisco routers) and 250 dealers (using ISDN and Ascend Pipeline 50). Services currently provided are SMTP email (sendmail and MMDF), WWW (Apache server) and Telnet-5250 access to corporate servers (AS/400). Experience with FreeBSD system administration (network config, SCSI etc.), shell and awk scripting is essential as is familiarity with TCP/IP networking (subnetting, routing, DNS, packet filtering etc.) Additional experience of Cisco, Ascend, Ethernet cabling, C programming, HTML etc. would be useful as this is a "hands on" responsive role in a rapidly changing environment. Toyota offers a competitive salary and benefits package, and a company car (depending on age). The position will be based in Redhill (close to Gatwick Airport, 20 miles due South of London). If you are interested please email me or call me 9AM-9PM GMT on 0973 207987 to discuss the position. Apologies to regular readers of -hackers for the advertising, but I hope we will be able to feedback into the project our experiences of using FreeBSD in a "live" environment!
