I have spoken too early, when I did clear my dot files and I still have the same problem. I have figured out what's the real problem is that..... if the user has the 'wheel' group and you will get the read only emblem. I just tested added the 'dummy' user to wheel group and it will get the read only emblem on computer/wastebasket. Have you filed to bugzilla yet?
