It seems that from a * friend's experience, using libXpm.so.4.7 with a program (like Xfig) * compiled with libXpm.so.4.6 can make it core dump... If this is true, and it is not caused because of a bug/design gaffe in xfig (i.e., it relied on a bug or an undocumented feature in the old xpm), the xpm library's major version number should be bumped. However, I believe the xpm people assign the shlib version numbers, so we can't just go ahead and change it. Do you know who I should contact about this? Also, ftp.x.org having a file with a different checksum than the one in files/md5 (which I assume was a correct checksum for the file at the main site in France) seems like a big problem to me.... Thanks Satoshi
